Terms of Service

Last updated 18 October 2026

These terms cover the website design service provided by HL Web Design ("we", "us", "our") to you, the client. By asking us to build your website, you agree to these terms.

1. The service

2. What's included

The £349 covers the design and build of a standard "brochure" website, a simple admin area for you to edit text and images yourself, and a plain-English handover. It does not include online shops, booking or payment systems, bespoke software, ongoing content writing, logo design or paid advertising. We're happy to quote separately for anything beyond the standard build.

3. Review and approval

We'll show you the website before it goes live. You can ask for reasonable changes during the build. Once you approve it, the site goes live.

4. Payment

The £349 fee is due on completion of the build, before ownership is transferred to you. We'll confirm how to pay when the site is ready.

5. Ownership and handover

On payment, ownership of the hosting account and the website's private code repository is transferred into your name. From that point the website is yours to keep, move or change as you wish. After handover you are responsible for changing the account passwords and keeping your login details secure.

6. Your responsibilities

You confirm that any content you provide — text, images, logos and the like — is yours to use or is properly licensed, and does not infringe anyone else's rights. You are responsible for the lawful operation of your website after handover.

7. Liability

We provide the service with reasonable care and skill. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, for interruptions or issues arising from third-party services (such as the hosting provider or your domain registrar), or for changes you make to the site after handover. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version in force is the one published on this page.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes are subject to the courts of England and Wales.
